7 Steps to a Successful Landscape Design & Installation

Step #1 (Schedule a consultation)

Get started in the process. You will need to submit a request for a consultation with a general description of the project, your overall goal behind the project, budget and an approximate date of desired completion. You can also call us at 816-505-0190. When we receive your request our office will gather some more information to determine if we are a good match for your project and schedule a site consultation with one of our landscape designers.

Step #2 (Design & proposals)

In the initial consultation our goal is to get a better understanding of your goals and personal style. We can many times achieve this by showing you pictures of other projects we have designed and installed similar to yours. During this visit we will try to come up with 3 proposals for you (Platinum, Gold, & Silver) and try to help you make a decision through revisions of one of the proposal. Many times larger projects will require more extensive designing and material selection, we would then schedule a 2nd meeting with you to propose the 3 options and prices. Our proposals will be provided along with a list of customer references and pictures.

Step #3 (Pick your plan and materials)

This is the last step in the planning stages. It’s time to choose one of the options proposed that fits your personal style and budget. Once a final decision is made on a layout, scope of work and price, we will then proceed to selecting your landscape materials in the scope of the project. We will guide you through samples, informative books and pictures, offering our recommendations for plant selection, mulches, river rocks, and hardscape products.

Step #4 (Project scheduling)

So we have a layout, materials list, and agreement for your project. You will get an approximate start date and approximate completion date of the project. We also call all utility locates for your property. We will generally schedule the projects in order of when Step #3 has been completed. Many times a landscape project can get pushed back due to our unpredictable mother nature. So please understand this can and most likely will happen.

Step #5 (Landscape project construction)

We will contact you again closer to the targeted start date letting you know when we plan on starting your project. You can expect to start communicating with the landscape installation foreman. You can expect a call from them to talk about upcoming staging of materials on your driveway, street or lawn. Any questions during the stages of the project construction can be communicated directly to the foreman. The designer/estimator and landscape foreman meet each morning about progress of the project.

Step #6 (Completed project walkthrough)

Closer to project completion we will know what day we plan on being completed with the project. We would like you to walk around with you and look at the details together to ensure that you love what we designed and installed for you. At that time we will give you recommendations for proper watering of any plants, shrubs, trees, or new grass installed.

Step #7 (Showcase your project)

After achieving a successful design and installation for your property, we ask that you let us show it off a little. The landscape concept revolves around creativity and visual appeal. We would very much appreciate if we could keep a company yard sign in your yard for a couple of weeks following the project completion, so people driving by your new beautiful landscape can call us to have us create a beautiful solution for their yard too.
